Katherine's taking a well-earned couple of weeks' rest from web development (getting this blog up and running was the last thing she did before she left ).

Luckily it seems that the nice US Customs folks didn't check her bags, because purple Chuzzle stowed away in the luggage! Katherine doesn't seem to have minded having an extra companion on her vacation, even when they came across a Super Chuzzle as well! She has been photo blogging about their adventures...

Lots of fun and sugar hyped up team members at Astraware today - Kirsten's birthday has her bringing in the goodies (doughnuts and a big tub of sweeties) for the team today, and then for an extra bonus in the afternoon Alison announces that we've won awards for games at the Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine awards - particularly exciting being Astraware Sudoku winning the "Best Sudoku" award. Big cheers all round, and lots more sugar for everyone!

We're particularly thrilled about the Sudoku award because there is strong competition in the Sudoku category, but the time we spent designing and getting thing right pays back in the end.

A celebratory chorus of chuzzle squeaks all round!

October has been an exciting time in the world of Palm, Inc, with the new Treo™ 750v running Windows Mobile® and now the announcement of a brand new Palm OS® Treo™ - the 680.

Palm's website has all the lovely technical specs of both devices, but we're most excited about the fact that both devices come bundled with a free Astraware game - Dynomite! on the Treo 750v and Bejeweled with the Treo 680.

Another exciting feature of the Treo 680 is that it will be available in 4 colors - Graphite, Copper, Arctic, and Crimson. There seems to be a great deal of debate regarding which colors are best, so we took a poll around the Astraware office, and the results are shown on the picture. It's a pretty close result, but Copper won it by one vote!

There's much more to Astraware than the products that you see on our website: we are 23 people (last time I counted) busily working away at things such as product development, customer support, product testing, accounts, business development... and this blog is a way for you to get to hear from us!

Things you may find here in the future could be anything from Paul getting excited about the latest device to arrive in the office, Mike giving you a glimpse of some of his concept art through to Katherine telling you about either (a) the latest tasty cake she's baked or (b) why she thinks Firefox is better than Internet Explorer.
