Bejeweled 2 for Palm OS(R) updated to version 1.1

THE MIDLANDS, UK – January 11th, 2005 – Astraware and PopCap have released an update for the Palm OS® version of Bejeweled 2 which increases the options available to Palm-powered device owners.

Bejeweled 2 has been praised for its rich backgrounds and sound effects, but these can be heavy on the device requirements. Astraware is announcing a new option for users who would like to take up a little less space on their device, and this option also makes it easier to run on devices with more restrictive heap memory requirements, such as the Zire 71, Tungsten T and T2. Bejeweled 2 ‘Lite’ can also be used by owners of all devices who wish to free up some storage space as it is approximately 500K smaller.

The new ‘Lite’ option, available as of the new 1.1 update, differs by using fewer sound effects and just one of the planet backdrops, but still has all of the same modes, great gem graphics, and special effects as the standard package.

Bejeweled 2 version 1.1 also introduces a number of bug fixes and minor improvements to the game including improved gem-swapping for the Tungsten T5 and Treo 650. It is available to download now from Astraware’s website. The Lite option is available as a separate download from the Bejeweled 2 page.
