Jobs and Work Experience

At various times in the past, Astraware has had as many as 30 staff, although mostly fewer than this!

Right now, the permanent team size is 2, and we’re not looking to increase this any time soon!

We do work with a range of freelancers and contractors for things like Art, Music, 3D Modelling,

We do not currently require the services of any agencies to fill our vacancies, nor are we expecting to change this any time soon. We have enough contractors and freelancers contact us directly that we’re not short of help, and we usually do not have unplanned requirements (unlike many large companies!).  Please don’t get in touch “just in case”, if ever we do feel the need to use agencies (and to be honest, we’d rather gnaw off our own legs) we’re quite capable of using the net.

We don’t have any current vacancies for permanent staff, either full or part time. Please don’t send us your CV and Portfolio (“just in case”) as we really don’t read them unless we’re actively recruiting, they just get deleted. Sorry!

If we do have any vacancies we will undoubtedly post them on our Facebook group and Twitter account – those are the best places to follow us!

We have some fantastic industry contacts, with great friends who have worked with us before on projects (some as previous employees), so we’re normally fine for freelance assistance. However, feel free to drop us an email with your specialism. Please don’t send us a showreel though (a link to one is fine).

Work Experience & Internships

Over the last decade and more we’ve provided work experience weeks for dozens of school students wanting to see what work is like in a games and technology company. We’ve been happy to give back to our local community and give what we hope has been useful experience and in many cases a stepping stone up into the academic world towards development.

We’ve also provided short and long term internships for a few students during their game and software development courses – which we know have counted towards their final grades and given them a real boost into the industry.

Unfortunately with just two of us, it’s no longer possible (or useful) for us to provide work experience opportunities or internships, as we just don’t have the capacity to do so! If you’re looking for a position, feel free to tweet us with what you’re looking for and we may just retweet it to all of our followers.
